      Hi Karen,

We are in St Albans not far from you. In fact last century (!) I was a parcel force delivery driver and my route was EN2.8 2.9 and 2.0, I know that place so well and will always have a real love for it…weirdly!! I think I’ve sent you a connection request, hashtag techno-phobe.

Hello. I have just joined . My name is Peter Bexon I always reject any need to be anonymous). When I signed up this morning as a founding member it took me seven attempts! On the sixth attempt I was told my name was already taken – so that must mean there is another Peter Bexon amongst the members. Ayway, could I kick off a discussion about the lockdown(S). I am totally opposed to destroying the UK economy in this way, and am convinced the lockdowns do not work, and cause only harm, including many deaths from non-covid causes. I am not a covid denier! I am however, one of those in the UK who have been shieldind, because of my age 74 and my medical condition. I signed the Great Barrington Declaration. I’d love to hear othe people’s opinions and experiences, whether you agree with me or not.

Hi Peter. I’m in agreement with you about lockdowns – they are definitely doing more harm than good in so many ways.

I’m going to look into why you were having sign up problems.

Peter, I agree wholeheartedly. So worrying that views like these are considered dangerous by the mainstream media. There are serious and incredibly important debates to be had around this issue (and so many others related to it). Yet, they’re are being ignored and too often cancelled.

Hey Peter, šŸ’Æ agree the lockdowns are pathetic. My thinking is that no matter where you are on the planet no one will ever avoid a virus! The biggest problem we ever had was the hospitals spreading it as drs, nurses, care workers and cleaners were always going to be the super spreaders. The message should have been save yourself from the NHS! šŸ˜

Absolutely agree. People like yourself are evidence that the” us/them” binary sort of culture war between the “Covidiots” and the “Lockdown Fanatics” is completely unnecessary, as there are obviously a whole range of opinions about this issue. And also our opinions are not totally immutable, as some seem to suggest. Was totally opposed to lockdown to begin with, but I’m now coming round to the idea that it may have been necessary as a three to six-week emergency measure, as doing nothing would have been unthinkable given the circumstances. However, now we have seen that the lockdown strategy has spectacularly failed, why are they imposing it FOR A THIRD TIME!? It’s like medication that has been proven futile, prescribed over and over again to a patient (instead of looking at alternatives). Furthermore, with the dynamics of viral mutation a continual problem, suppression actually ENCOURAGES mutation to create more resistant strains, so it’s a long-term disaster, even with vaccines. I have the utmost sympathy for anyone who has been affected by the pandemic, and would applaud NHS staff every year given the opportunity, but what we’re doing can only make things much worse in the long run. We definitely need a change of strategy (such as the principle of Focused Protection). Could go on all day, but better cut it short there!
